Join Us! Each year, the success of the Los Angeles Dinner and Auction depends upon the efforts and enthusiasm of countless volunteers. Depending on your area of interest or background, there are a variety of opportunities open each year on the Dinner Committee and its subcommittees. Each subcommittee is led by a chair or team of co-chairs to develop key aspects of the Dinner, including:

Dinner Chair In-Training: Do you have a passion for events? This a great opportunity to help develop and plan the overall direction of our 2019 LA Dinner. Gain invaluable experience and exposure – working with and guided by our Dinner Co-Chairs, Dinner Advisers and HRC’s National Staff Partners. The role will also require the individual to take on some responsibilities in one of the other Dinner Subcommittees, i.e. Auction, Corporate Sponsorship, Marketing/Social Media, Program Book/Ad Sales, etc. To be considered, please submit a formal letter of interest and resume to our 2019 Dinner Co-Chairs: Jessica Bair, Nam Lam and Justin Mikita at email@example.com.
Community and Political Outreach: Our Community and Political Outreach Subcommittee is our liaison to the greater Los Angeles area and political leaders, helping us publicize the event to our full community of stakeholders are in attendance. (Chair: Sue LaVaccare at firstname.lastname@example.org)
Corporate Sponsorship: The success of each LA’s Annual Dinner event is greatly attributable to the kind sponsorship of corporate America. Our local Corporate Sponsorship Subcommittee reaches out to the local corporate community, along with HRC staff, to secure their support. (Chairs: Chris Boone and Gwen Baba at email@example.com)
Program Book: The Los Angeles Annual Dinner Event Program Book chronicles the night’s events and gives friends, local businesses, and corporations the opportunity to support the Dinner. The Program Subcommittee solicits ads and helps to design the book. (Chairs: Chris Donnell and Bryce Frost at firstname.lastname@example.org)
Raffle Tickets: Enter our raffle to win a $2000 American Airlines! This Subcommittee manages the sales and distribution of 250 raffle tickets through multiple tabling opportunities at HRC partnered venues, targeting to our Fed Club members and event day raffle tickets station. (Chair: Jason Roundy at email@example.com)
Silent Auction: The Silent and LIVE Auction is an exciting part of our traditional dinner festivities that offers everything from vacations and unique experiences to one-of-a-kind art items, jewelry, and more. The Silent Auction Subcommittee networks locally and nationally to secure items for the auction. (Chairs: Ezra Alvarez, Shawn Balentine, Laurance Hem and James Wen at firstname.lastname@example.org)
Table Captains: The foundation of the Dinner’s attendance is built around table captains who strive to fill tables of 10. The Table Captain Subcommittee hosts events focused on securing table captains, developing their table attendance and acknowledging their commitment. Volunteer Management: HRC Los Angeles owes much of its event success to its amazing volunteer force. The Volunteer Subcommittee provides a pool of volunteers for Pre-Dinner events and for the night of the Dinner itself. Volunteers on this sub-committee have the opportunity to attend the event and assist with: Ushering, Greeting, Assembling Gift Bags, and Administering the Silent Auction. Opportunities are available prior to the weekend of the Los Angeles dinner, as well as throughout the event weekend itself. (Chairs: Sandy Bass and Brian Lawrence at firstname.lastname@example.org)
